KBS Capital Advisors
Strengthens its Financial Reporting Capabilities
with Two Key Promotions
Bryce Lin becomes assistant controller of financial reporting and Nhu Trinh is named REIT compliance analyst
Newport Beach, Calif. - July 20, 2010: KBS Capital Advisors, the advisor for all KBS Real Estate Investment Trusts (KBS REITs) and an affiliate of KBS Realty Advisors, has promoted two members of the KBS financial reporting team to accommodate the significantly expanded regulatory filing and financial reporting requirements associated with the company’s growing portfolio of REIT products.
Bryce Lin, a KBS Capital Advisors financial reporting manager since 2008, has been named assistant controller of financial reporting. In his expanded role, he will work with Michael Costa, KBS vice president and controller, to oversee all internal aspects of SEC reporting for KBS REITs including the timely preparation and filing of SEC-required documentation. Lin will also continue to streamline the financial reporting process for KBS REITs, which include KBS REIT I, KBS REIT II, KBS Strategic Opportunity REIT, KBS Legacy Partners Apartment REIT and KBS REIT III, for which KBS filed SEC registration on February 4, 2010.
A REIT reporting and compliance administrator for KBS Capital Advisors since 2008, Nhu Trinh has been promoted to REIT compliance analyst, reporting to Carol Shumway, KBS vice president of REIT reporting and compliance. In this capacity, Trinh will coordinate the development and compliance of KBS REIT financial reports and marketing and sales documents with internal KBS reporting departments, outside vendors and the SEC.
Both are residents of Irvine, Calif. and will continue to be based at KBS Capital Advisors headquarters in Newport Beach.
“Bryce and Nhu have been instrumental in KBS’ ability to handle the extraordinary increase in regulatory filing and financial reporting requirements associated with the company’s five REITs,” explained Costa. “They are part of a highly qualified KBS financial reporting team that will be critical to anticipated REIT growth in the future.”
Prior to KBS, Lin was an auditor in the downtown Los Angeles office of KPMG for two years. A graduate of USC’s Leventhal School of Accounting, where he received a bachelor’s degree in accounting, he also worked as an assistant controller at CB Richard Ellis in Newport Beach, where he assisted on the KBS account.
Before coming to KBS, Trinh worked in the Boston area for Loomis Sayles & Company, L.P., IXIS Asset Management Advisors, L.P., and Avalon Bay Communities. She attended Boston University.
